Membership

Before enrolling for our classes or activities, you must become a member of  Box Hill U3A.  There are two types of members –  general members and associates.  Associate members are those whose main membership subscription is with another U3A, but who want to enrol for some courses at Box Hill.

Membership fees :

The membership subscription form can be viewed and printed from here.  The form is a PDF file, that is, you cannot write on it or change it on line; and you need Adobe Reader* on your PC to view the form. 

To view the membership form, click here.   When the form appears on your screen, use your print function to obtain a hardcopy.

See Classes and Activities section for details of what is on offer.  If you have any queries about classes or your eligibility, contact the office on 9898 3336.  When you have decided, fill in your form and mail it and your fee as directed on the form. 

When your membership application/enrolment has been processed, you will receive a letter confirming your payment, stating the classes for which you have been accepted, and providing a membership badge.  You can call at the office for a plastic sleeve for your badge and a Box Hill U3A lanyard to hold the badge.

If your enrolment is not successful (eg, if the class is now full), you will be contacted  by our officers.

Computer  Classes

Enrolment for computer classes is handled separately to enrolment for other classes and activities.  Prospective computer class enrolees are asked to contact the computer course co-ordinator to discuss their proficiency level and which classes might be suitable for them.  They can contact the computer course co-ordinator through the Strabane Avenue office on 9898 3336.  If there is a class available, the computer program co-ordinator will give the class details to be entered on the membership subscription/enrolment form.  See Computer Class Descriptions for information on classes offered at present.

An in-person enrolment day is held for computer classes before each term.  The date is advertised in the newsletter.
